Terms: 6 pages; Privacy: 4 pages. This is a reasonably sized TOS. Good work Playrix! |
The Right to Privacy | 3 out of 5 |
GOOD ASPECTS: Good child policy. 3rd party cookies can be turned off. Will never disclose your IP address information to third parties. Can easily opt out of notifications. All data is deleted upon your request. BAD ASPECTS: It should specifically state that no data is shared with law enforcement without a subpoena. They do not discuss account recovery and cell phone porting in a proper manner. |
The Right to Equal, Fair, & Reasonable Expression | 0 out of 5 |
BAD ASPECTS: Can edit, refuse to post, or remove any content at their discretion. They decide what is 'offensive' which is not cool, because that's a subjective determination that differs across cultures. GOOD ASPECTS: No cheating. |
The Right to Control My Intellectual Property | 0 out of 5 |
BAD ASPECTS: Anything you write or share can be used in any way, including comments, feedback, and suggestions, with no compensation, and... they own it all. Be very careful, users! ALL rights are given up and transferred to Playrix. All moral rights waived. GOOD ASPECTS: Can't infringe on others' copyrights. |
The Right to Sue | 3 out of 5 |
LAWS OF IRELAND. You didn't know that did ya!? GOOD ASPECTS: You can sue. Since they don't expressly prohibit worldwide venues, they get a 3. BAD ASPECTS: If they expressly allowed worldwide venues, score would be higher. |
The Right to Low-Cost Arbitration | 3 out of 5 |
GOOD ASPECTS: Arbitration isn't forced. BAD ASPECTS: The venue is unclear. |
The Right to Join a Class Action | 5 out of 5 |
Not Waived! Excellent. |
The Right to No Hidden Terms or Fees | 3 out of 5 |
BAD ASPECTS: No refunds ever, and this isn't clear upfront. You forfeit all of your 'virtual currency' if they delete your account. Not cool. GOOD ASPECTS: Short agreement, so it's hard to hide terms. |
The Right to Fair Process & To Be Heard | 0 out of 5 |
BAD ASPECTS: They decide randomly if you've violated their terms of service. Can be kicked off, deleted, or censored for any reason at its discretion. GOOD ASPECTS: User conduct is included within the TOS. |
The Right to Appeal & The Right to Return | 0 out of 5 |
No appeals process. No right to return. |
The Right to Reasonable Terms | 4 out of 5 |
GOOD ASPECTS: Very short. Clearly written. They aren't paranoid. There are no external links within the agreement. BAD ASPECTS: terms and privacy are separate documents Hard to find contact information. |
Historical Fairness | 6.78 out of 10
Historical User Ratings | 10.0 out of 10
Historical Lack of Lawsuits or Arbitrations | 10.0 out of 10
Public Placement of TOS Fairness Score & Link | 20.0 out of 20
Total Rating | 67.78 out of 100
Additional Note | Can't find an email address anywhere in the TOS. Found them on the contact us page easily, but should be in the TOS, at top: influencers@playrix.com; press@playrix.com; bizdev@playrix.com; support@playrix.com; contact@playrix.com; Other terms: can update TOS at any time. No warranty that anything works. Can't fraudulently buy stuff. Discussion of in-game currency is confusing. Your virtual currency can't be used in real world. |
